The ORPA - Donna J. Deal Memorial Scholarship

Each fall ORPA grants two college scholarships to qualified junior members. The scholarships honor the memory of Donna J. Deal who along with her husband Wilbert served as ORPA trustees and junior smallbore coaches from the Erie County Conservation Club. Each winner receives
$500.00 to help fund studies at a trade school or college.

To qualify a junior must be an ORPA member and competitor for at least two years. They must furnish three letters of recommendation, including one from their coach or instructor. Each student will also supply a high school transcript with a grade point average of at least
3.0 during their junior and senior years. Applicants should provide a one or two page typed statement describing their post-high school goals and details of the students' other activities, including extracurriculars, work experience, community involvement or church service.

Please note that scholarship winners do not need to compete on a collegiate team. ORPA is interested in rewarding junior members who share an appreciation for the shooting sports and can positively represent the organization.

Applicants must submit the above information to the Scholarship Committee by September 1 of each year. You may also contact the Scholarship Committee at any time if you have any questions.

An application is available at this LINK or by sending a request to the individual below.
